What a Day Newsletter

In 2024, I helped redesign Crooked Media’s “What a Day” branding suite and daily newsletter to match their new podcast art, designed by Bernardo Serna. That summer, Bernardo had created a vibrant new piece of key art featuring the podcast’s signature mug motif — this time, adorned with a pink paper umbrella and stained coffee rings. I leaned into this messy, early-morning scene and built a newspaper-inspired email newsletter template in their server of choice, Klaviyo. For the gif header, I designed a simple Canva template with a halftone image treatment that the What a Day news team could assemble in under five minutes. Additionally, I created a library of over 200 hand-drawn emojis for the team to add a bit of humor to their newsletters.
